Unfortunately, The Wolf Among Us is much more of an interactive movie than it is an adventure game. The interface makes the game pretty easy to control, and if youРІР‚в„ўve played other Telltale games like The Walking Dead or Jurassic Park, then you should be able to jump right into The Wolf Among Us without any problem. If you can do multiple things with a hotspot (such as knocking on a door or kicking it open), then clicking on the hotspot will bring up a wheel of possible actions. Then in each scene, you use the mouse to locate hotspots (including other characters and objects) and interact with them. The world is presented from fixed positions, and you use the WASD keys to move Bigby around the different scenes. Each episode ends with a sneak peek at the events in the next one and a new episode starts with a short recap.The engine for The Wolf Among Us is pretty standard fare for adventure games. As in The Walking Dead, conversation options are almost always time limited and when the player does not react in time, a decision is made automatically. When they are not performed in time, the character dies or the game chooses a different route for the events. Many of the action sequences are shown as a cinematic or through quick-time events for the player to act quickly. Conversations with key characters and solving small puzzles are the most important trigger to progress through the game. These objects are not always necessary to solve puzzles, but can improve relationships in conversations when the object is useful. Many objects in the environment can be examined and some can also be picked up and are stored in a separate inventory. There is a certain amount of freedom in exploration and sometimes multiple paths are offered, for instance in choosing where to go next. The game is story-driven and incorporates decisions by the player that are carried along for the entire game. The gameplay is largely identical to The Walking Dead.
